Soulfly
Band yang beraliran Trash/Groove/Nu Metal berasal dari Arizona. Band ini dibentuk pada tahun 1997 setelah Max Cavalera hengkang dari Sepultura. Bisa dikatakan Soufly adalah salah satu band yang sering berganti personel. Max mengaku bahwa berganti-ganti personel adalah untuk memberikan nuansa berbeda pada setiap album yang mereka keluarkan. Formasi awal Soulfly adalah Max Cavalera, Roy Mayorga, Jackson Bandeira, dan Marcello Dias.
Pada album kedua mereka “Primitive” Joe Nunez menggantikan Roy Mayorga sebagai penggebuk drum. Pada album ketiga mereka, Roy Mayorga masuk kembali. Tapi, setelah melakukan tour keliling Eropa personel-personel Soulfly seperti Mikey Doling, Marcello Dias, dan Roy Mayorga bersama-sama hengkang dari Soulfly.
Pada tahun 2003 Max merekrut anggota baru untuk pengerjaan album keempat. Max merekrut kembali Joe Nunez, Marc Rizzo, dan Bobby Burns.

Therion
Band ini dibentuk pada tahun 1987 di Swedia. Nama Therion sendiri diambil dari bahasa Yunani “Therion” yang berarti binatang.
Pergantian Nama
Pada awalnya Therion dibentuk dengan nama Blitzkrieg oleh Christofer Johnsson sebagai bassist dan vokalis. Kemudian Peter Hansson dan Oskar Forss bergabung sebagai gitaris dan drummer. Blitzkrieg sendiri terinspirasi oleh band seperti Metallica dan Slayer, namun musik mereka lebih mirip Venom dan Motörhead. Pada Maret 1988, Blitzkrieg memutuskan untuk berpisah oleh karena adanya masalah dengan Oskar Forss.
Pada akhir tahun 1988, Blitzkrieg kembali dibentuk dengan nama Megatherion. Christofer Johnsson mundur sebagai bassist dan menjadi gitaris, Peter Hansson masih menjadi gitaris, kemudian Johan Hansson sebagai bassist, dan Mika Tovalainen sebagai drummer.
Pada akhirnya, Megatherion berubah menjadi Therion dan Oskar Forss kembali menjadi drummer dan Erik Gustafsson sebagai bassist.
